A Business Computing degree is designed with advancing your career in mind. As well as studying a breadth of Information technologies (electronic office, programming, databases and multimedia) you will also learn about fundamental areas of Business like management accounting, marketing as well as finance and economics. This will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to study and develop computer systems that meet business’s requirements.
You will learn about core aspects of computing, such as data analysis and software development. However, you will also acquire a deep understanding of areas of business like consulting, management, and IT operations, as well as how digital technology is changing business. You will also acquire the broad skills employers look for in IT professionals, such as leadership, teamwork, and management.
We have strong relationships with industry, and you will be able to tackle real-world projects and take part in a placement. You will discover the ways that modern businesses utilize IT, and you will be able to create your own solutions to real-world problems.
Many students who have completed this course are able to move into an occupation that requires a mixture of both IT and business expertise, such as a project manager or software developer. Others may work for companies like banks and insurance companies, or start their own business with their IT and vocational skills.
